Two Lab Photography

East of the Sierra II

In June the four of us took our trailer on a two week trip to the east side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We stopped in Lone Pine for several days and visited the Alabama Hills and Manzanar. We moved north to Bishop and spent a few days enjoying the area and looking for autumn photography scenes while trying to stay cool. Summer had finally reached the Owens valley with temperature pushing 100 degrees. We then moved north to Mono Lake and spent five nights enjoying this wonderful place. When we arrived at Mono Lake Tioga Pass had just opened into Yosemite National Park. The opening of the road was at least three weeks late due to the heavy winter snows. When we left Mono Lake we were able to return to Fresno via Yosemite which saved us at least a days travel time.
