A Week at Carmel-by-the-Sea In early November, 2010, we headed over to Monterey Bay, California, for a six day get away. We stayed in an artsy coastal town called Carmel-by-the-Sea, just six blocks from the famous Carmel Mission. During our stay we visited Point Lobos State Reserve to hike and photograph scenes by the sea. The preserve is best noted for it's birds, seals, and rugged coast line. We also drove south on California Route 1 to Big Sur and McWay Falls. One cannot visit the Monterey Bay Area without spending a full day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on old Cannery Row. We spent our final day at Moss Landing visiting Elkhorn Slough and the back bay at Moss Landing. We ended our day and trip with a wonderful fish dinner at Phil's Fish Market in Moss Landing.
